BEDFORD, Mass. – The Edinburg Center is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $12,500 general operating grant from the Community Foundation for MetroWest through its 2024 Human Services program. This grant will support The Edinburg Center’s initiatives to provide vital services to individuals with mental health concerns and developmental disabilities in the MetroWest region.
The grant aligns with the Community Foundation for MetroWest’s ongoing commitment to enhance human services and address the needs of under-resourced and underrepresented individuals. The Edinburg Center’s programs focus on prevention-based treatment models—providing support services that help people we serve remain in their communities, and avoid unnecessary hospitalization or incarceration.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Community Foundation for MetroWest for their generous support,” said Edinburg Center President and CEO Patti Maguire. “This funding will play a critical role in expanding our services and ensuring that the people we serve across the MetroWest have access to high-quality mental health and disability supports necessary to thrive.”
In the coming year, The Edinburg Center expects to serve 800 MetroWest residents, with plans to expand its services by an additional 25% over the next two years. The Community Foundation for MetroWest’s grant will help facilitate the implementation of The Edinburg Center’s strategic plan, ensuring that it can continue to grow its impact and serve more individuals in need.
“As a community foundation, we serve as a bridge that connects donors, nonprofits, and MetroWest leaders to drive positive change across the region. We are proud to partner with organizations like The Edinburg Center who are helping create strong, vibrant communities, now and in the future,” said Community Foundation for MetroWest Executive Director, Jay Kim.
The Edinburg Center’s mission is grounded in the belief that all individuals have the potential to learn, change, and live meaningful lives within the communities of their choice. The Center offers a broad range of innovative services that promote personal growth, independence, and hope, improving the quality of life for individuals with mental health conditions, co-occurring substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.
