Employee Spotlight: Pam Chan, LICSW, Director of Outpatient Services

Pam Chan’s journey in human services began with a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Originally from Hong Kong, China, Pam lived in Ontario Canada for 20 years where she obtained her Bachelor of Art degree before moving to the United States. This laid the groundwork for a career dedicated to supporting individuals and communities in need.

Pam’s interest in human services sparked while attending university, although she did not have the opportunity to pursue the field immediately. It wasn’t until she joined The Edinburg Center 23 years ago that she was able to fully immerse herself in the world of social work and clinical services.

Throughout her tenure at The Edinburg Center, Pam has worn many hats and accumulated a wealth of experience across various roles. She started as a Residential Counselor at a Group Living Environment and has since progressed through a number of positions including Clinical Director of the Day Program, Director of Developmental Disabilities Residential Services, Crisis Team Intern, Site Based and Mobile Respite Intern, and Guardianship Evaluator for Developmental Disabilities Clinical Team, to name just a few. Each role allowed Pam to hone her skills in clinical care, management and program development.

Today, as the Director of Outpatient Services, Pam oversees a vital portion of The Edinburg Center’s operations. “I enjoy the clinical work combined with the challenge of growing our programs,” Pam explains. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see my team thrive, and I take great pride in supporting their professional development. I also enjoy creating and implementing systems that improve the quality of care we provide to the people we serve.”

Outside of her professional life, Pam enjoys boxing and knitting.

Pam Chan’s remarkable career at The Edinburg Center is a testament to her enduring dedication to helping others, as she continues to lead the Outpatient Services team, Pam remains an inspiring figure for both her colleagues and the clients who benefit from her care
