Meet Pam Chan: A Lifelong Dedication to Helping Others

Pam Chan’s journey in human services began with a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Originally from Hong Kong, China, Pam lived in Ontario Canada for 20 years where she obtained her Bachelor of Art degree before moving to the United States. This laid the groundwork for a career dedicated to supporting individuals and communities in need.

Throughout her tenure at The Edinburg Center, Pam has worn many hats and accumulated a wealth of experience across various roles. She started as a Residential Counselor at a Group Living Environment and has since progressed through a number of positions including Clinical Director of the Day Program, Director of Developmental Disabilities Residential Services, Crisis Team Intern, Site Based and Mobile Respite Intern, and Developmental Disabilities Clinical Team, to name just a few. Each role allowed Pam to hone her skills in clinical care, management and program development.

Throughout her career, The Edinburg Center has been a supportive partner in Pam’s professional development. “When I went back to school to earn my Master of Social Work, The Edinburg Center was incredibly accommodating. They worked around my class schedule so I could continue to work while getting my degree and I was able to complete my internship within the agency, while I worked. The Edinburg Center also provided tuition reimbursement, which was very helpful,” Pam explains. This support underscores the organization’s commitment to helping employees succeed.

Now, as the Director of Outpatient Services, Pam oversees one of the most vital parts of the organization. She finds fulfillment in both the clinical work and the challenges of growing and expanding the center’s programs. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see my team thrive, and I take great pride in supporting their professional development,” Pam says. “I also enjoy creating and implementing systems that improve the quality of care we provide to the people we serve.”
